“It all begins with an idea”

From concept to the completed work, it all begins with an idea and I have included examples of my work involving that process via my portfolio. Please feel free to view the evolution and diversification of my work over time and click to view extra content, and I hope you can see the potential for you to work with me on new exciting projects together.

While working at NBTY Europe (Nature’s Bounty), I began as the designer for GNC UK, collaborating with a marketing assistant to successfully enhance the brand's profile. Since NBTY Europe owned Holland & Barrett, Nature’s Way, Julian Graves, and De Tuinen, my work was very diverse. I became the brand ambassador within the organisation and the main contact for NBTY U.S. specialists regarding Mac user and large format printer issues in the UK.

After working as a freelance designer, I went back to a full-time job at First Line Ltd. They first hired me for a long-term intranet design project, but my role expanded to include various tasks like packaging design, supplier proofing, banner design, and corporate identity regulation. I was regarded as the brand ambassador by the Global Director of Marketing.

I initially joined Thames Valley Police as a second designer to help the Corporate Communication department. Thames Valley Police is the second largest police force in the UK after the Metropolitan Police and work was surprisingly varied, from internal communication, to public awareness campaigns, to Open Day events, work was both diverse and informative. I was hired initially to boost the departments capability, though in time I was helping to create the new brand identity for the force and played a key role in it’s development and initial implementation across the force’s intranet, “the Knowzone” and new communication.

As a designer, I've had the pleasure of working on many conceptual designs and freelance projects over my career for clients such as First Line Ltd., though I've also had fun experimenting, such as with "swooping" to test my Photoshop skills before AI dramatically simplified image editing. Every project has value, allowing for new skills and the chance to revisit ideas for future use, so I keep everything just in case it becomes useful later.
